Bio

Regina Simons is a Diné, Nakoda, and Dakota filmmaker and an enrolled citizen of the Navajo Nation. Her films present Native stories through narrative, documentary, and experimental formats, emphasizing strong and multifaceted characters.

She earned an MFA in Film & Media Arts from the University of Utah, where she refined her filmmaking skills and strengthened her commitment to using film for social change and generational healing.

Regina’s artistic journey began early. Growing up surrounded by performing arts and academics, she developed a passion for both on-camera and behind-the-scenes roles. She enjoys writing, directing, and editing.

Guided by creativity and experience, she weaves her heritage into each film and values lifelong learning, often saying, “As long as you are breathing, school is in session.”
