Bio

Regina Simons is a Native American filmmaker living in Salt Lake City. She tells powerful stories with strong, complex main characters and works to bring Native voices to the screen in narrative, documentary, and experimental films.

She earned an MFA in Film & Media Arts from the University of Utah, where she honed her skills and grew more dedicated to using film for truth-telling, preserving culture, and supporting generational healing.

Regina grew up in a performing family and soon found a love for the arts. She later realized she was most passionate about working behind the camera, especially in writing, directing, and editing.

Her studies and curiosity help her connect her heritage with storytelling. Regina believes learning never ends. As she says, “As long as you are breathing, school is in session.”
